Donations Delivered and More Help Needed to Alleviate Asylum-Seeker Suffering

Updated: Dec 11, 2018

SALEF continues taking humanitarian trips to Tijuana to aid the Central American Caravan. We are so grateful to each and every donor. In our third trip we delivered:

- $4,500 of food

- $2,000 of medical supplies

- 300 sweaters

- 50 pairs of shoes

- 100 quilts

- 50 tents

- 50 sleeping bags

We also provided the services of lawyers and medical doctors directly to the asylum seekers.

The US government is processing only 100 cases a day, while thousands of people wait in inexcusably poor conditions.

The scale of human suffering is unimaginable. The lack of food, medicine, shelter and other basic necessities is a humanitarian crisis. Right now, it is compromising health, robbing men, women and children of hope, and is a stain on our moral standing. Soon it may be the deaths of these refugees on our conscious as they succumb to the dangers of their conditions.

SALEF is making one more trip to bring food, clothing, shelter, medication, toys and medical and legal expertise to the Central American Caravan asylum seekers. We will visit the weekend before Christmas, December 21st to 23rd. In this upcoming trip we will bring aid to he "Barretal" - the new main shelter outside of Tijuana. This is where the Mexican Government is holding the men, women, and children awaiting to submit asylum cases to the United States.

Thousands need our help. Please help us bring aid, toys and love to our brothers and sisters in need.
