The youth Policy Institute (YPI) and SALEF partner to train a total of 60 individuals in various medical fields in two years. Such potential careers include Medical Assistant, Certify Nurse Assistant and Pharmacy Technician. This distinctive and time-worthy program targets low-income resident from South Central Los Angeles and Westlake Pico-Union Area.
Given the current economic situation, this program serves as an outlet for those seeking a career path that might otherwise not be affordable. The program funding includes school tuition, books, transportation, paid internship and port-graduation job placement support. This is another effort, with the support from the Youth Policy Institute, to continue empowering communities.
Communities most affected by the economic crisis are being trained and placed on jobs that will have a direct trained and placed in jobs that will have a direct impact on their quality of life.
